This most enjoyable guide comes from Rickards, star of the MTV show Awkward, who gives tips on everything from makeup and nutrition to time management and relationships. Rickards shares her journey toward self-acceptance that begins with attitude adjustment, incorporates beauty advice, and offers suggestions on romance. Chapters include step-by-step instructions for painting furniture as well as decorating a la feng shui. Checklists, diagrams, illustrations, and quizzes round out this clever how-to book. VERDICT Rickards's writing is like that of an older sister/friend, who makes being a grown-up sound fun. Recommended for younger women, although "more mature" readers will get a kick out of it along with some inspirational ideas.
